As many of you know, Josef and I have been able to travel quite a bit! I’ve put together a list of topics that should help you with your travel arrangements. If you have further questions, please let me know!

  • The European Union is currently working to launch ETIAS, a visa program that will apply to Americans traveling to the EU. The program has been postponed until 2026, so it will be in effect for our wedding. For more information, you can visit the official ETIAS website.

  • When it comes to booking flights, the earlier the better. I also recommend looking at deals around Black Friday and Travel Tuesday. Air France has great deals if you book during this time! With this in mind, I will have detailed accommodation information available for those saying in Besancon by this time.

  • When in doubt, Rick Steve's always helps me out! In all seriousness, he does have easy to digest information on getting around Europe. Train schedules typically are published at least two months prior to your intended trip, and the sooner you book, the better! I have had success using Rail Europe to find the train I want to take, then I go to the train's website to ensure I'm getting the best deal.

  • As long as you have a valid driver's license from the United States, you can drive in France and Switzerland with an International Driving Permit. International Driving Permits are incredibly easy to get from your local AAA Travel office. Once you have your permit, you are able to drive in 150 countries for one year! You can click the link here for details!

  • I'm delighted you asked!! While I ask that you do not judge the formatting, you can view the research and detailed itinerary from Josef and I's recent trip to Switzerland here!
